Project Tiger

This tiger conversation programme was launched in 1973 and it aimed at ensuring a viable tiger population in the country. They planned to reduce the factors that led to depletion of the animal’s habitat. The last known data shows the comparisons between 2016 and 2018. The tiger population in 2016 was 1,411 and by 2018 the number of tigers increased to 2.603-3,346.
