It is the  first state in the country to implement a long-term action programme to address the challenges of climate change. The plan has been prepared by the state’s climate change department with the help of experts from IIM-A AND IIT gn. It looks at renewable energy. forestry, renewable energy, animal husbandry agriculture, health, tribal and coastal areas and energy conservation. It has developed strategies to encourage people participation, mobilize private investment and develop policy measures including public investment.
