The State Government of Uttar Pradesh has decided to implement the UP Rooftop Solar Panel Subsidy Scheme. On installing a 1-kilowatt solar power plant, the beneficiaries will get a subsidy of 15000 rupees by the State and 21000 rupees by the Central Government. After subsidy, the cost of a kilowatt is reduced to nearly half. Many Uttar Pradesh villages do not have a power supply yet, and implementing this scheme in both rural and urban areas has been a move supported by the Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency.
